The smoke test has officially launched! This is the stage of the BackerKit survey where a small percentage of backers are contacted and asked to complete their surveys. This allows us to test the system, verify everything is working, and then open the survey to everyone.
If you have received a smoke test email, please complete your survey today so that we can finish this stage of the campaign.
Once we're satisfied that the test is going well, then we will open the survey to all backers.

The factory reports that tooling is complete and they are ready to start final production of the miniatures. Our current rough schedule:
* BackerKit surveys open in early 2020 and run until . . . we're still finalizing the dates.
* All miniatures complete production in March. (Chinese New Year slows things down.)
* The minis go to the freight forwarder in April to be co-loaded with Munchkin games that are produced at a different factory.
* Minis reach Austin in late May.
* Fulfillment starts in June.
The above schedule is, of course, an estimate. If things change, we will let you know.
We will be back with more news once the BackerKit surveys have opened. For those of you who want even more minis, we've opened up Ogre Miniatures Set 3 as a project add-on in the Car Wars Sixth Edition campaign.

We've reviewed another set of factory samples and asked for one more minor tweak to one of the sculpts. We should see the next revision in about two weeks; if that looks good, then we'll start cutting the steel and open the BackerKit pledge manager.
Car Wars Sixth Edition Coming Soon
For those of you who have been waiting on the new edition of Car Wars, the game is coming together great and will enter the crowdfunding stage later this month. Please see this thread on our forums for links to several blog posts about the game.

The factory shipped over a replacement and everything is looking great! Next step: We take a last look at the sculpts and then approve the designs to go to the tooling phase. We might see test shots from the mold before the end of 2019.

More news, gang! The updated Mark VI sample has arrived and is the correct size, though we cannot approve the sculpt for tooling since it was broken in shipping. We now wait for a replacement and, if all looks good when that arrives, then we can proceed to cutting the steel mold.
